The domain name is the address of your website that people type in the browser URL bar to visit your website. In simple terms, if your website was a house, then your domain name will be its address.

The domain name must be registered before you can use it. Every domain name is unique. No two websites can have the same domain name. If someone types in www.yourdomain.com, it will go to your website and no one else’s.

You are not required to buy any hosting or email through Oryon. You may host your domain name and email account with a different hosting provider by either using their nameservers or our DNS service.

As long we as offer the type of domain name, you can transfer it to us. For .com, .net, .org, .biz, .info, .name, and .us domains, your domain must be registered for at least three months before you can transfer it. Any domain transfer to Oryon will include a mandatory one-year renewal. Domain renewal fees will be based on our domain price list.

Domain private registration is optional. You can protect your personal information from being obtained from the public WHOIS system using Oryon Domain Privacy service. With Domain Privacy, your contact details will not be visible through a public search, helping you to keep unwanted attention and email spammers away. Domain Privacy is available at no cost if it is applicable.

Please do note that Domain Privacy is not prorated, and the expiration date will be the same as that of the domain name.

If your domain name expired on the due date, visitors will be unable to visit your website and it may be directed to a page showing that the domain has expired. This will disrupt your business operations and reflect badly on your business image.

After a domain name has expired 1 to 29 days, it goes into a domain redemption period for 14 to 30 days. If you need to use the domain name during this period, there is a high domain redemption fee if you wish to retain ownership of the domain name.
